I met my friend Carlota Z for an all-too-rare lunch together at our favorite sushi place, May's Place on 2nd Avenue near 7th Street.
I remembered on our last visit I wanted more gyoza (five for a dollar!) These are crispy, pork-stuffed dumplings. they offer vegetarian, too. Soooo good. Not heavy or greasy, just crispy, yummy, and even better dipped in the sauce they bring you.
We got our new favorite, the Godzilla, and she also encouraged me to try the Scottish roll. Holy hot deliciousness. Yes.
Did I mention half-off sushi rolls??
Oh, and did I mention that the Godzilla roll is flash-fried? Forgive me for leaving out that tidbit. I was distracted by the deliciousness.
May's consistently remains on the top of my favorites list. If you're in the East Village, you have to try it!
